Marshall,
Take a look at this and add anything you see fit.
We have a Token Ring environment and are using NT 4.0 SP 6a asour NOS. We are experiencing several users that sporadically have ghost drive mappings. Where on their workstations, some Windows NT 4.0 workstation and Windows 95, will spontaneously remap their already mapped drives. When this occurs if they attempt to save a file to one of the remapped drives it will act as if it had saved, but no one else will see the file. The remapped, ghost, drives cannot be disconnected in the normal matter. The machine has to be rebooted in order for the drives togo away. They will not reappear right away and, in fact, they might go away for several days or even weeks then all the sudden they reappear. We have not been able to find any correlation between the machines that are having this issue. We have tried reinstalling the OS, reinstalling the service pack, uninstalling Microsoft Fast Find, reinstalling the network drivers, reinstalling the network card and deleting the profile of the users. If anyone has any suggestions we would love to hear them.
