Strange problem I am having with an Intel D815EEA motherboard, with onboard NIC card, etc. Using NT4 and SP6a. The NIC is turned on in the BIOS. PnP is turned off. However, when I put in the CD with all the Intel drivers, it greys out the NIC card (an EtherExpress PRO/100 LAN). Okay, the normal proceedure is to ‘force’ the driver. So I browse the CD from the Start, Run Command and point to the CD drive:
d:\drivers\lan\oemsetup.inf
Get error message! Even tried the same with :
d:\drivers\lan\net82557.inf
Get error again
Am I doing something fundamentally wrong, here?
I went to the Intel Web site for the board, and downloaded what looked like the driver..but this has failed to work.
Has anyone had a similar problem? Or know the answer? Maybe it’s just a simple case of getting the driver off the CD, that came with the board. I know I did it before on the exact same board, with NT4, and had no specific probs. But I have forgotten the proceedure…Any help greatly appreciated!
