Driver verifier

Does anyone know of what practical use computer tech might have for the Driver verifier (verifier.exe)

Once you execute it from a command prompt, it just runs in the background, and stalls your system and you can’t stop it. I had to apply an old restore point to get rid of it.

So is there any practical use for it and are there any instrucktions on how to use, implentent and stop it? Does it give you a report
