drives a and B

first question: I want to install a program
from 3 diskettes I never used them, and they are a
bit old, it is the quickbooks programs an old version.but I want to install it anyway. I tried to download another version but it is the second try because half the way there is no connection anymore. Ok the error messages I get trying to open the disket says Drive A not ready do you to format it now?
The second quest: After installing norton antivirus 2003 I see that now I have 2 icons the one floppy drive A en the second floppy drive B:
but I never installed the drive B:
I don’t know from where it comes and how????
It is a mistery for me.
Can I remove drive B: with no problems? and How?
