Dropouts

I have had constant internet dropouts since owning a computer despite changing modems,which seems to be the only answer the Tech support at several IPs can come up with.My settings don’t have an idle disconnect command activated and the phone line has been checked and seems ok.Can you enlighten me…very frustrated
