Dual Boot

Just wondering if someone out there might be able to give me a tip on setting up a dual boot, with one hard drive..if this is possible..i have win xp as of now and i would like to be able to install and boot linux at random…i was just wondring if you can do this with only one hard drive..and maybe some info on how to do it.
