Dual Boot In XP Pro x64

by techy . Updated 19 years, 3 months ago

Hi

I also posted this as a question, and thought that there may be some help for others if it went into the discussion forum as well.

Recently I had to re-install my operating system and since the install I now get this screen appear:-
********************************************
Please select the operating system to start:
1 windows XP Pro x64
2 windows XP Pro x64
Ues the up down arrows to select
Press enter to choose3
********************************************
I only have one op system so I’ve done something to cause this

I have tracked down to where I belive this can be fixed in System Properties > Startup & Recovery>Settings
Here I get a notebook file and this at last is my question. As I am not a programmer can any one tell me what I need to delete from this file to stop the above dual boot option

The notebook file:-
*********************************************
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS=”Windows XP Professional x64 Edition” /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS=”Windows XP Professional x64 Edition” /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
**********************************************

Greatly appreciate any help you can offer.

Regards
Allan
