Dual boot with WinXP and ME

I have 1 40 gig hard drive, I partitioned off 4 megs for Windows ME, and left the rest for XP it seems to work fine, but I want XP as drive C: and dont care what drive letter ME is. I will be using XP 90 percent of the time, and when I install software I dont want to forget to change where it is going to be installed to, and have the files end up on the ME program files directory. So in short, I guess the question is can I install XP first so it will be drive C: and then install ME?? I have tried the conventional way and it doesnt seem to work. Thanks!
