Dual booting Win98 & Win2k

I installed a second hard drive, and started installing Win2k on the second hard drive. Its a new PC with P IV 2.2 Ghx, 512 MB, 60 GB, and Windows 98. The second hard drive, 10 GB, is a slave to the 60 GB, as there are 2 x CDROMs on secondary. Onthe first shutdown, it froze and would not recover. Fortunately I had Symantec Goback installed. Could this be a problem in the BIOS?
