Duplex printing from Dos programs

I recently installed an HP Laserjet 2300dtn printer for some users. The printer is networked and they can print without any problems from windows based programs. The problem is when they print from DOS based programs,it always prints in duplex form even though I set this option to manual. I just can’t figure out why?
