Duplicate when starting a website in IIS

After creating a new website on my w2k server, I enter Internet Terminal Services to start the site from the tasks menu. I keep getting the error “A duplicate name exists on the network”. This occurs on a newly created site with a unique name. I ahve been unable to find a solution to this issue. Any information would be helpful.
