DVD-Drive Won’t Recognize Movie DVDs #2

This is the same exact problem as posted in another thread. I’ll quote ‘grumpus’:

DVD-Drive Won’t Recognize Movie DVDs
I have a Memorex DVD+/-DLRWL1 F16 BSWE drive that is now lno longer recognizing any manufactured movie DVD I put in it. It will recognize datat CDs and burned DVDs, but nothing else. I run Windows XP.
