DVD Writer very slow

I purchased a SONY DW-G120A DVD/CD writer. The problem is it is very slow. Writing 3.3 GB data on a takes more than an hour at 16x. 70 minutes to be close. I have Win 2000 Server SP4. And i use Nero to burn. Please help
