I have lost my vmm.vxd. It does not appear in C:\windows\system\vmm32, nor do I see it when I run regedit & look under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ system \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ VMM32Files.
When rebooting, I see:
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Unpacking VMM32.vxd
Library is invalid or wrong version
Open of C:\windows\system\vmm32\vmm.vxd failed
Microsoft Windows VxD Library Manager version 4.00.03
Packing vmm32.vxd
Library is invalid or wrong version
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Am I going to have to rebuild it? Any help in that area would be very much in need.
Or, can I somehow restore it or get another one?
Perhaps relevant, my motherboard, a M748LMRT sold by PC100, offers an ATX form card to add USB functionality. I recently purchased & installed the card… put in a USB mouse which seems to work well enough, then bought a USB CD-RW… & thus my problem.
Thanks,
Bart
