Editing the registry

I have recently had cause to start editing my systems registry. In 2 keys I have found hundreds of subkeys that I wish to delete. Is it possible to delete numerous selected items at once? I have tried highlighting all the ones I wish to delete at once, but using the Ctrl key doesn’t allow this option.
