Error on Start up

While Windows 2000 professional is starting up I receive an error window with the following error message: “execution of the specified command has failed”. The start up continues successfully but I have to click OK in the error window to get rid of this error message. What is this error message mean and how do I get rid of it. It’s a nuisance.
