Error when playing Audio CD’s

When trying to play a non-extended audio CD through Windows 2000 I initially get the following error before it starts playing:

Desktop Dialogue Box – Access to the specified device, path, or file is denied.

I am the only one that uses the computer and haven’t changed any permissions on directories. Removed Windows Media Player but it still appears
