Eseutils on Exchange 5.5

We have several Info Stores with large Priv’s. We will soon be migrating to Exch2k and need to compact the stores, but we have space issues. Is it possible to copy the Priv to a new, more robust server temporarily, run eseutils and copy it back to the original server? Do I need to install Exchange on the temp server?
