A member of a mirror set on an IBM Netfinity Server running windows NT 4.0 Server failed and was replaced with an identical 8.6GB Hard disk on the Server.
However,attempt to re-established the mirror set has been a nightmare.
After selecting the partition to be duplicated on the working Disk 0 and holding control key while clicking on a larger or equal size of partition on the new Disk 1, on the Fault tolerance menu, when I attempt to select “establish mirror”, all the options on this menu are greyed out,and I can not create the mirror set.
Disk administrator recognises the two hard disk and I can partition and format the new disk.
Below is the partition structure on the old disk.
55mb(unknown and reserved by the configuration utilitythat came with the server)
3004mb(fat partition in use for system files)
4001mb (NTFS partition in use for application and data)
1616mb (free and unformatted)
