This is on a new Dell server running Windows 2000 Server. The other computers on the network are 1 Win98 machine, 2 WinMe machines, and 2 Win2000 machines. The old server (a WinNT4 machine) is also currently still connected while we are switching over.
I am getting a warning in the event viewer with this description: “The SNMP service is ignoring extension agent key SOFTWARE\Microsoft\IPXMibAgent\CurrentVersion because it is missing or misconfigured.”
Doing some research, I have found people stating
that something has been installed and I should
reinstall it or point the registry entry to the
correct dll’s.
I haven’t really installed any software. Active
Directory was first installed, then removed, as this is just a file server in a peer-to-peer network, and there is not domain. The only other things that were set up were IPX/SPX/NetBIOS, and NetBEUI. They were later removed, also.
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this warning.
Also…we are getting weird errors on two WinME
machines. When trying to access a file on the file
server (but not always), we get a blue screen with a vxd error, and we have to reboot. It has happened when trying to open files, and when trying to exit and save files, but it is random. But it is causing several reboots throughout the day.
Any suggestions?
