Excel 2000 won’t open or save

HELP! Have user w/Office 2000 prof sr1. When trying to open Excel, the program will flash and shut off. Sometimes it will execute but when we try to open files nothing happens. We can open files the long way through explorer, but when we try to do a save or save as, again, nothing happens. Tried a repair, not luck. Tried a complete uninstall, delete ms folder, and reinstall, no luck. Can’t find anything on MS site. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
