Excel 97 loses some functionality when l

I have a Win2K Pro client, on an NT 4.0 network. Office 97 is installed on the machine and the user cannot use the Tools/Options feature. The system reports an error and closes excel. However, if the user logs on to the local machine account, excel works fine. It’s only when he logs on to our NT domain that this occurs. What am I doing wrong here??
