Excel and Spool32 page fault

Recently we’ve had 3-4 different users end up with invalid page faults caused by spool32.dll after continuous printing from Excel 2k. To 2 different HP printers. It causes all installed printers to disappear from their machines and they have to reboot to have print capability again (the printers magically reappear). Tried deleting and reinstalling printers; supposed with more recent drivers, but to no avail. Any ideas?
