Exchange 2000 Crash

had a Exchange 2000 crash,. Have the backups, I rebuilt the server and named everything the same with Active Directory. What do I do from here, How can I extract the messages from the backups and import them into the new server. I have treid renaming the c:\program files\exchsrvr and restoring the original files to that location, then using Exmerge, but it crashes. Will not let me do the isinteg -patch nor the esutil /r items either. Please be as detailed as possible. I need to figure this oneout. Thanks
