Exchange 2000 Server removed

by shanghai sam . Updated 24 years ago

Good PM peers. The following scenarios has occured once in my home test and the repeat has occured & I cannot find a resolution. Here is how it went.I have a existing fully functional win2000 AD Domain all built from a clean install.Loaded Exchange2000 on a second DC server(also houses my dns).Things went well & This is on amd-k62 500 MHz system I built.POP,IMAP,OWA,Outlook2000 client,Instant messaging was all fuctioning.(I TURN OFF MY PC’S IN THE PM)2 weeks ago the is store failed to start and SA.I tried manually & could never start it up again,Reboot either.reinstall over to rebuild but could not start.in frustration tried to uninstall, could not move the mailboxes-non functioning Ds,Is.Last thing to come to mind was completely remove server & rebuild another server.Used the utility ntdsutil to permanently remove the second DC(Exchange2000 DC)WRONG MOVE!!!!!.Now I cannot install another Exchange server @ all.The schema has been altered and I did not Backup(System State) prior to exchange installation so I could load previous schema.I CAN LOAD PREVIOUS SCHEMA CAN I NOT?ANOTHER WRONG MOVE TO NOT backup schema prior to app installation.I have no knowlegde of any programming, just basic shell script & very basic vbs.My question is “IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN BUILD ANOTHER MESSAGING SERVER OR HOW CAN I REBUILD THE SCHEMA TO REMOVE ALL REFERANCES TO MY PREVIOUS SERVER.HAS ANY OF TECH-REPUBLIC MEMBERS EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE & WOULD LIKE TO SHARE ANY THOUGHTS.THANX SO MUCH
