Exchange 5.5 on Win2k Server

Hi all, I have a new network running Windows 2000 Server and I need to move my current version of Exchange 5.5 on to it, before I do so I thought it would be a good idea to ask you guys who have probably done it before, about the pit falls.

It currently runs on different network (including network name), in an ideal world I would install Ex5.5 on the new server and copy across the Private and Public data files but I know this won’t work.

A few questions…
1) Does it matter which serverI install it on.
2) Can it run OK on Win2k server.
3) Any methods I can use to transfer data files and get them to work without much fuss.

(I did it once by extracting all Priv and Pub data seperatly then importing it again, a real pain)
