Exchange Server 5.5 with SP3, on NT 4 SP

I changed the an NT server name under Network Properties and the server rebooted OK. However, my Exchange services did not start. If I change the server name back to what it was, Exchange services start fine. Is there a way to change an NT servername that run Exchange and Exchange service will restart after a server name changed?
