explore dvd shows desktop

Hi,
My problem is very weird
I have a compaq s3100nx with a dvd drive.
when I try to open dvd drive with right mouse + explore a screen with my desktop files appears in the screen instead of the files contained in the dvd.

do you know how to correct this problem (to allow me to explore dvd drive to show dvd files)
