Explorer crashes accessing Fonts folder

I have just received a brand new Compaq PC with Windows 2000 installed and whenver I try to access the Winnt/Fonts folder, either through Windows Explorer or through the control panel, Explorer crashes. Has anyone had a similar problem? Any help would be appreciated.
