Hi All,
Hope someone can help me on this one…here’s the
history: had several viruses run through our network
here; cleaned them off server(NT 4.0; SP6) and clients
(Win98SE). Two of the clients have had this
problem…after logging on, error message: Explorer has
caused an invalid page fault in SHLWAPI.DLL. After you
close the dialog box, no desktop or anything is
available. After much searching around, learned that this
is(?) caused by a corrupted profile (because I can logon to the client machine as a different user/w no problem), so what I did with
the first one was to create a new account on the NT server
and give it permissions to old account, mailbox, etc.
This pretty much worked although still havingsome
problems w/attaching to shared drive on server. Did the
same when the second computer came up with this problem,
but it does not seem to be working on that one…still
getting the same error. I have replaced the .dll file,
and replaced explorer.exe but still no joy. Can anyone
tell me how to solve this problem? Much TIA.
Terilyn
