I am looking to buy an external CD-writer to backup HD before defragmenting and reformatting. I also have some people who want to periodically backup their HD when cleaning but need to be able to still access the info. A CD would be easier to use than many disks. I have looked at HP and some others but it seems that either you get a slow 4X4X6 with the serial port connection or you can get a fast on with USB or Firewire. Half of the computers don’t have USB and none have Firewire options. Isaw a HP that was took a SCSI connection and wondered if anyone knew how it would work if I bought a Cable to convert the SCSI to a Male 25-pin and plug into where the printer connection goes since 75 percent use network printers not personal.
