External Harddrive requires formatting, but can’t complete the formatting, how can i get it back to work?

I have a SATA internal harddrive which i have converted into an external by covering it in an external casing. Now it’s performing bad, when i connect it to my laptop, its pops countless “Format Disk” messages. These messages come atleast five or more minutes after i connect it, something that started recently. But the first days i converted it, it was working just fine. I have failed to format this drive.

How can solve get it back to work?
