we have a problem accessing disk on a pII. no system …. this happened when we could not put off the pc with button. we just unplugged.
now i tried entering does prompt via f8-key(fdisk /mbr and sys c: command using a bootdisk). this did not work. why?
is this normal? eventually our bootdisk was defective. we did this work outside and my friend who was responsible for this repair did not make a bootdisk!
the original problem was a nonfunctional printer. i then unplugged all unnecessary cards, yes even an agp-video(there is onboard-video). my friend pull out a bit this card when working on the others without knowing. this one did not work again in that machine… he even mounted an extra soundcard although there was one onboard. he did not know how to find/install the board-driver. btw: the printer is now working. a second person had rebuilt this pc….3 persons on a pc= chaos totale!
in printer-section there was a com1-connection instead of lpt1! and we have tried out all bios-settings. network-card was blocking irq 7(normally 10). i could change this.
