failed Dll initialization

2days back i unistalled Norton Anti-virus from my laptop and i conyinued further to delete those that had failed through dos. Now when i try to open my tally accounting programme it brins a message C:\program\symantec\s32evnt1.dll. An installable virtual device driver failed Dll initialization and gives option of close or ignore and if i choose ignore it opens but whenever i save funny sound is emitted! Secondly when i tried to reinstall an error message comes up like winkese.exe programme has detected an error and terminates the installation. Please help me out of this quagmire my laptop has windows2000 system.
