Failing Hdd’s

by loodachris . Updated 21 years, 6 months ago

In the past 3 weeks I have had 4 hdd’s do the click of death on me. 4 weeks ago my system was stable running dual wd 250’s when one started doing the click spin thing. I let it go for about a week when it started to get worse. I bought a new seagate 200gb hdd installed it and during the windows install I got the click of death as well. Considering that I might just have the worst luck ever I went out and bought a wd 200gb hdd. That installed fine and workd for a few days and now it has the click of death. After reading other peoples problems the conclusion was maybe a failing powersupply???? With only 2 optical drives and 1 hdd running now it seems to work but trying to run games causes the hdd to click and spin again. I have a radeon 9800pro which requires extra power and was wondering if this is a full sign of a failing power supply. Btw the power supply is an antec 550 “true power” only 6 months or so old :(:(

Thank you
