fatal exception at 0028:00000000.

I am using Windows 98SE. Had no problems until I downloaded several programs from the internet ie. click, gozilla. When I rebooted windows would partially come on screen and then click off leaving message: a fatal exception OE occurred at 0028:00000000.Your program will be terminated. I tried numerous manoevers to recover the screen but unsuccessfully. Even Norton crashguard tried unsuccessfully stating that there was a page fault. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. MMN.
