fijitsiu life book n series not loading windows

i just got this thing to, and it just stops working, it turns on boat wont load windows just keeps trying, hard drive maybe? is there anything i can do? before i go drop another grande on a hard drive, and more to have some pull the old info off to the new one? can i rebuild it like a carbirator? lol
