I have been asked by a publisher to research how documents created in quark express can be converted to microsoft word. The purpose behind this is so that sections of books burned onto C.D> ROM can be loaded onto the reader’s computer in such a way that the reader can edit them.
These are educational books and the idea is that the students using them can complete exercises contained in them by editing the word documents on screen.
Because of the graphic content and layout only quark express is capable of producing the otiginals in such quality that they may be used in the printed book as well as the C.D. ROM. Hence the need to be able to convert these original quark document into microsoft word R.T.F. so that they can be edited by the reader.
Can anybody advise me on how this might be achieved in house by the publisher that I am trying to advise?
