File Downloads on IE6

I have been unable to download any files and it seems to have been since updating to IE6… would have occasional problem before but i’ve not been able to download anything lately… it shows the icons…2 folders and pages moving but nothing on transfer bar…and eventually get a message that it was timed out…and the server was rest… i’m confused and frustrated… thanks for any advice…
