File Folder options problem

by marks@blue . Updated 23 years, 4 months ago

I recently amended the options for the File Folder to enable me to print the contents of a folder from a right-click, using the following:
http://windows.about.com/library/tips/bltip681.htm
Since doing this, the default option when double-clickingon a folder is to search within the folder instead of opening it. I don’t want this, but cannot edit or remove the actions the buttons are greyed out in the Folder options/File types/(select File Folders)/advanced tab.
Last Known Good didn’t work, and neither did restoring the default settings (not an option on the File Types tab). I deleted the Print Contents option from the registry, but the default still hasn’t returned to what it was. Eventually, I had to add a new option for the File Folders type, named it Open and pointed it to Explorer.exe, but this always opens a new window.
Any suggestions?
