I have added a new Western Digital 20GB ATA-100 hard drive to my PC and removed the old one. I reinstalled Windows 98 SE and everything works great. The only thing I’ve noticed is that every time I boot the PC or Turn it off, a *.tmp file is placed in my C:\Windows root directory. The temp files build up with every boot; so over a months time, there are about 150 in there. They are 0 KB, so I’m not worried about losing space. I just don’t want the files. The beginning of the file looks like a memory address, followed by .tmp .
