Firewire Hard Drive

Hello,

My problem is I have an external Maxtor hard drive, Apparently something happened as I plugged it to a clients house to backup there data which was a success then when I brought it to my shop to recover the data I learned it was all gone and the drive shows it’s not formatted. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue? I am in the process of running an application which shows the files are there during the scan and will hopfully be able to recover them however is there anyway I can restore the drive? It was running NTFS and it appears the Table that points to everything is gone so can I restore that like the File Allocation Table?
