five minute shutdown windows 98

in reference to your solutions for the
five minute shutdown, due to a USB Modem
I dont use a USB Modem, but i INSTALLED
a buslink usb hard drive and a new USB
lexmark x73 printer/scanner/copier. I am
having the same problem after the above
were installed. where can I get a fix if
any.
