Flashing the BIOS

I am trying to flash the bios of an older MB. It is an AMIBIOS and I downloaded the zip file with the exe and com files and instructions for usage. Plus I downloaded the ROM file with the updated bios. When I try to run the com file, it pulls up thedos app and states that the system BIOS does not have flash support. But the utility app states at the top that it is for a Tyan board only. Can I flash this board using the quick flash method or what other suggestions do you have.
