Floppy disk doesn’t work, says no disc

I have a HP 8566C and had a fatal exception
a couple of weeks ago. Got everything back
to working, but when I tried to copy a
download onto a floppy a few days ago, nothing happened. So I loaded the drivers
back and in the system, under the control
pannel it shows everyting ok in the devices
and my A floppy ikon shows everywhere its
supposed to. You put a floppy in and nothing
happens. Any suggestions?
