Formatting a hard drive

I don’t know if I am asking this correctly. But I want to erase all information that has my name, or credit card numbers, or any personal information about me on this computer. I am selling it and I don’t want the buyer to know anything. Not even the pages I surfed. Is this possible? I was going to uninstall EVERYTHING. Can I make it like it was when I purchased it?
