Foxpro 2.6 database problem

We have several files being used by an app. These are referenced by multiple users. One file seems to lose its index at times, forcing us to log out all operators to re-index the file. After doing this, it works fine. We are migrating in the future to Foxpro 7.0, but in the meantime was looking for help.
