I launch Freecell and the title bar reads 5 characters – a cents sign, an apostrophe, letter u with an accent mark, upsidedown question mark, and a thik pipe symbol – instead of “Freecell”. Also – my cursor remains an hourglass while over the playing area. I can click the File menu and select New Game. The playing area fills with cards, but the cursor never changes from the hourglass and I can never play. The title bar never changes from the gibberish. This has actually happened on 2 of my machines, both Win98SE. I have removed all fonts, tried File System Restore from System Tools and reinstalled Freecell. I have also removed all gamed, rebooted, reinstalled all gamed, rebooted, and still no good.
No – I don’t NEED Freecell – but I’d like to solve this problem for the sake of problem solving.
