‘Front page’ problem

Quite suddenly – my Front page prog. has started to introduce ? marks instead of punctuation marks (like ” ! ‘ etc.) It looks fine on the screen before publishing, but as soon as it appears on the web site the errors appear. They also appear as small squares on other computers. How can I correct this? I am using Windows XP prof. on a PC with lots of memory available.
