General Protection Fault

by cmhjon . Updated 25 years, 5 months ago

I have a BRAND NEW PC that runs Windows 95b and has 64MB RAM on it. It has a P3 800MHz processor and a 10GB hard drive. It runs on a 10/100 ethernet network. I installed the Word and Excel portions of MicroSoft Office 97 on this new machine. This machine prints to a networked HP LaserJet 4000 printer. I installed the drivers for it from the HP CD that came with the printer. The user SOMETIMES gets the following illegal operation error when she tries to print from Excel:

“EXCEL caused ageneral protection fault in module HPBXLB.DRV at 0003:00000e6e”

I believe the HPBXLB.DRV is an HP Printer driver but don’t understand why the error occurs. In addition, I used to get a similar error on the users old machine. This is very frustrating!!!! HELP!
